Just a little heads up... perch season closes for the month of july ,except for kids under ten years of age. The perch are in the harbors real thick. They are biting in the early mornings ( 5am to 7am) and in the evenings (7pm to 8:30). A slip bobber down 10 - 15 feet with large shiner or soft shell crab will be the easiest way to catch the perch, but the way to pull the jumbos is with shad rap with an in-line sinker(1/4 to 3/8 of an oz.) with a cast out far, open bail until the line stops coming out(make sure that you close your bail before the bait hits the water to prevent twist in your rig) jerk/jerk...slow retreive pull is the way that the bait should be retreived. Snap and pull it back. Pop it erratically.

Take a breath between repetitions, don't go too fast. You will not feel the hit.

Tip 1: The best way to ensure that your bait is working the way you want to is to watch it along the break wall.

Tip 2: The rapala SR05 SD is working the best.

Tip 3: If you can't rent a bite on the above, try a single or a double spinner from Park Bait of Henry's. With a single hook behind the spinner and a split shot three feet above it. USing soft shell. Throw it out and retrieve it slowly.
